Oct 4 - Kelmscott Manor - Plough Inn

Our last morning in Woodbridge - so its coffee and yoghurt at Two Magpies at 8am - then on the road to meet our tour time at Kelmscott Manor - the home of the Arts and Crafts Mega star, William Morris.

This will be an anniversary gift to Katrina and Alex along with an overnight stay in the 17th century Plough Inn, very near the Kelmscott property.

William Morris (24 March 1834 – 3 October 1896) was an English textile designer, poet, artist,[1] writer, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His literary contributions helped to establish the modern fantasy genre, while he campaigned for socialism in fin de siècle Great Britain.

This pic astounded me! The contrast and the texture looks like a Constable painting. I took it from the window in the previous pic....

We stayed over at the Plough Inn....a 17th century pub and traditional hotel....higglety piggelty rooms, rickety staircases, English Fare for dinner and breakfast....Just what the travel doctor ordered!
